The Helsinki Corridor

The Helsinki Corridor
Bart Kamp has published a new paper examining Lee Harvey Oswald’s arrival, stay, and departure from Helsinki, Finland in October 1959.
Helsinki, the city where Oswald managed to secure a visa in 48 hours that would take him into the Soviet Union for his alleged defection.

Drawing on records that have only become available in recent years, the paper digs into how Oswald actually got that visa. It traces the threads that follow: the CIA’s investigation for the Warren Commission, the Yuri Nosenko case, the HSCA’s later inquiries, local Finnish investigations, and Oswald’s train journey onward into the Soviet Union.
