The whole JFK release response has been a shambles and really depressing…,just about the only coherent voice is that of Jeff Morley…”experts” like Gerald Posner and Larry Sabato mixed up with people I have never seen or heard of before.
Then we have some SSCI committee meeting on April Fools day in order to hear what JFK material may be found elsewhere??? Try your own archives! How about the Scweiker Hart committee holdings which contain the best work mainly by Tom Moore.(is he still alive?).
How about the two testimonies of Veciana from March 76 and what exactly did CIA redact from the Veciana files that so enraged Moore,oh and the same happened with de Mohrenschildt also.
Anyway number one priority THE SCHWEIKER/HART files plus another proper sifting of the Church Committee files, the ARRB did a fast sweep of the four hundred plus FRC’s and found 16 more boxes than the 40 previously released by the SSCI (2 staffers and 5 INTERNs??)……also the FBI JFK HQ Investigation Files post 1993 need releasing (there may have been a quiet partial release) but when I last asked some seven years ago there was a big fat zero at NARA.
The same applies to Lee Harvey Oswald HQ files,….numbers I think are the 175 and 175a files and the 89 and 89a files….the last I saw were the 1993 files which heavily featured the JFK conferences in Dallas…..in addition there will be voluminous Field Office files related to the latter HQ files.
In addition how about the DOJ releasing their files, all of them which relate to the JFK assassination, I got a few pages of the Attorney General Robert Keuch files but then got directed to the micro film where I met another road block (not releasable…too much personal and privacy) this is what I have put up with for so many years.
NARA need to be held accountable for their actions in removing JFK documents for years…,keeping them away from by using “Working Papers” as an excuse,oh and by the way where is the index for these screened off JFK documents.????
What about NSA?…they handed over 3 boxes to ARRB but no sign of their own JFK Investigation files which they wrote to Rankin about……
What about the other stonewallers, the LBJ Library, what happened to the packages of documents an LBJ staffer gave to the library in 1973 with a 50 year classification on them,…..have they been released?
It’s all just depressing….and what we have lost over the years,my goodness, imagine warehouses full of US Customs documents and we now have one blue box at NARA with a single document in it…sickening….or as Pete Bagley used to say to me,”enough already”……
